What are The Like, like, you ask? ,

I’d heard a lot about The Like and was ridiculously excited to meet them. Z Berg and Tennessee Thomas, daughters of rock music royalty, had started the band as teens in LA and had quickly garnered positive attention from critics. About a year ago, their former bass player left, so they recruited Laena Geronimo and Annie Monroe to cement the current (amazing) line-up. When I walked into the room at Universal Music HQ in Sydney, I was greeted by a chorus of cheerful hellos – and some seriously eyeliner-clad eyes...

Smell good. Do good. Feel good. ,

Hands up if you’re reading this article? Alright, good start. Second question: hands up if you heart the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula range? Now, I can’t see y’all so I’m going to assume there’s a whole lotta hands in the air right now, since Palmer’s is one of the most popular beauty products picked up off shelves in Australia. True story.

Community service announcement: the beauty of buns. ,

The hair bun, is an up-do born in the Ballet because of it's ease, gracefulness and ability to contain unruly locks. It graduated to social status when worn by SJP during the mid-series of Sex and the City. Today, it gets passed off for a top-knot often because they are very much one-and-the-same, although the top-knot tends to be more messy and laid-back and the bun looks more to the opera born, meaning it exudes high levels of sophistocation. In any case both are wild-weather friendly and wearable come casual or otherwise.

Give it up for World Vision ,

I was 13 when I did my first 40 Hour Famine. I got a bunch of my girlfriends and we hunkered down for the weekend with a heap of chick flicks, a ton of gossip and what felt like a thousand barley sugars. Not only did we raise a bunch of money for a great cause but we had an awesome bonding weekend too!

Breaking up is hard. Tweeting about it is worse ,

You know you’re taking it too far when you update your Facebook status with “I miss my [Insert ex-boyfriend’s name here] sooo much” to your 942 friends.

Case in point? My friend recently broke up with her guy but only to, an hour later, flood the newsfeed with “Stacey*: wants everything to go back to the way things were” and “ Stacey: doesn’t know how I’m going to get through the next hour”.

Is Facebook really our friend? ,

Okay, so I was cruising through the paper last week when I spotted a story about a teen that had gone missing after meeting up with a guy she met on Facebook. A couple days later they found her dead...

Cure Monday-itis the DOLLY way ,

I read an interesting spot of research this morning. Apparently Monday is the second happiest day of the week (followed by Sundays … mmm sleep-ins).

At first I was dubious. As much as us DOLLY girls all LOVE our jobs, there’s something particularly painful about the pre-dawn buzz of the alarm on a May Monday morning that doesn’t exactly make us jump for joy...

Just another reason to heart Beyonce ,

Is it sad that as soon as I discovered I’d be flying on an overseas holiday to Europe on the same day as Beyonce’s I Am… concert – a little part of me died inside? I suppose it is. But really, I was bummed. I am a huge B fan. She’s had me shakin’ my booty and wagging my finger from her early days workin’ it in Destiny’s Child all the way
